ABOUT GREEN NUTRITION & WELLNESS

Wellness. Nutrition. Fitness.

I am a major proponent and facilitator of functional health. Food can, and should be, fun and enjoyable!

Green Nutrition & Wellness began as a way to impart nutritional advice to friends at the gym. Two things became immediately clear:

1. In the current information age, the surplus of information and ever-changing nutritional advice had people confused and frustrated.

2. The "dietary" struggles people combat are so much bigger than just food. Nutrition must tie and work seamlessly with mental health, stress management, and fitness because they are all interconnected.

I am here to help you make smart food choices and work through those external forces that seem to create roadblocks along our path to improved overall health. Food is not the enemy nor the answer, but simply an input.

GET TO KNOW ERIN

Growing up, I wanted to become a Mermaid above anything else. As time progressed and I realized that wasn't going to happen, I became the next best thing: a competitive swimmer. This is where my competitive nature and athletic mindset began. I devoted my life to swimming by the age of seven and swam competitively until senior year of high school, competing for a USS team and attending junior nationals and sectionals along the way.

 

As I entered college, I transitioned out of competitive swimming to focus on school but my love for staying active never faded. Like everyone, I've gone through highs and lows and periods when life has gotten in the way. For me, fitness has always been my "North Star". When times get tough, or I get bored, I look for the next challenge to pursue.

 

Through the years I have explored, and enjoyed, numerous different types of training, including: general "globo gym" training, obstacle course races, Ragnar races, Strongman, Olympic lifting, and yoga. Around 2013, a close friend and workout buddy mentioned a new type of gym they were opening called CrossFit. From day one I was hooked.

In 2017, I obtained my L1 CrossFit coach certification. Through coaching and interacting with members, I noticed people unable to train properly or see the results they wanted because of poor diet. As a lifelong athlete, I have always been keenly aware of the importance of a clean, well balanced diet. In an effort to help others, and expand my knowledge base, I went back to school and sat for The Health and Wellness Boards (NBHWC).

I am currently one of the select few Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches in the Annapolis area and hope to bring my expertise and passion to my local community.

 

When I'm not meeting with clients, I can be found training at the gym, exploring with my toddler and husband, or relaxing with my two rescue pups :)
